With a total of 28 Amateur wins, and honor of being best Amateur for outstanding 11 times, Fukushima passed her Pro Test on her first attempt in August 1992.
After her shining turn to pro, Fukushima achieved "Annual top prize money winner" twice.
Fukushima entered the US LPGA tour in 1999. In only 12 matches, Fukushima became the fastest ever Japanese to win a championship in US LPGA. Achieving a second win in the same year, Fukushima became 15th in US LPGA prize money rankings.
In 2004 Fukushima retuned to Japan. Despite her injury in 2005, she has achieved two wins in 2006. Her powerful swing as well as extraordinary focus and precise course management continues to attract many golf fans and younger golf pros.
